Tamil New Year Celebration 2024

Tamil New Year was celebrated in our school on 12-4-2024 (Friday). Everyone came to school with the traditional Tamil clothes/dresses. 

In the morning session, many traditional games, such as Bambaram, Gilli Thanda, Pallanguzhi, Paandi, Chuddikal, Golikundu, Nungu Vandi were conducted to reflect the identity of the Tamil people.  'Avatar Food Court' with traditional Indian food was also organized by the management and teachers.  The students were excited to enjoy their favourite snacks and drinks. 

The afternoon session was fully enhanced with traditional programs, such us tradition of Five Lands (Kurnji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Paalai) and it was a feast to the eyes. 

A great debate was also held with humour on the topic of "Healthy food Vs Fast food" to make all the students think. Songs, ancient history of Tamil language were shown on the video to highlight the excellence of Tamil language. 

The event "Kakka Marantha Kalaigal" played a very important role in the Tamil New Year celebration.  The traditional Tamil arts, such as Sword, Karakatam, Valari, Maan Kombu  attracted everyone's attention. It was meant to express the antiquity of the Tamil culture. The whole event explored the pride of our Tamil language.

The students got six weeks of vacation after the two weeks of Bridge course in the new academic year 2024 - 25.
